Celebrate our Centennial by traveling through time and taking part in World Thinking Day! World Thinking Day dates back to 1926, when delegates from all over the world met at Camp Edith Macy in Briarcliff Manor, New York. At this meeting, it was decided that February 22 would be known as a special international day of friendship for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from all walks of life. Every year since, World Thinking Day has called for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to join together to take discuss issues that affect young women and take part in activities that promote changing the world for the better. ON FEBRUARY 22 of each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from 146 countries celebrate World Thinking Day (WTD)— that’s one BIG celebration! The World Thinking Day 2017 theme is “Grow.”   T his World Thinking Day, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides will explore, stretch, and take on new challenges—and celebrate what it means to be part of the global sisterhood that is Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. World Thinking Day 2016 is February 22. Every year, on February 22nd, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all over the world celebrate World Thinking Day. We honor our sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by taking the time to think about and give thanks for our international friends and to remember that Girl Scouts of Nassau County isn’t the only group of Girl Scouts out there; that we are part of a larger community of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. This year, the World Thinking Day theme is “Connect.”   Try some of these activities with your Troop to honor our sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world… Earn your World Thinking Day Award by exploring this year’s theme, “Connect!” Girl Scouts of all ages can participate in World Thinking Day.
