Junior Troop 917 from Bellmore recently participated in a sign contest sponsored by Hofstra University and won an opportunity to have a Girl Scout Cookie Booth Sale at one of their basketball games. They had a wonderful time!

National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is February 27 th through March 1 st ! Girl Scouts and Non-Girl Scouts alike can join in on the fun and festivities on National Girl Scout Cookie Day! Girl Scouts can celebrate with us by hosting a Cookie Booth Sale, a Cookie Walkabout, or simply going door-to-door that day with your Girl Scout Cookie Order Form. We often think that because it’s winter, we are stuck inside… well that just isn’t the case. As long as it isn’t too cold and you bundle up for the winter weather, there are many fun and interesting activities you can do in the winter… most of them don’t even need snow. We all know that the Girl Scout Cookie Season can be a hectic one… girls (with adult supervision of course) are out there “pounding the pavement” trying to sell as many boxes of cookies as they can to reach their goal.   Cookie Season doesn’t start until January 4, 2014, but what are some things we can do now to prepare ourselves and make January a little easier? 1) Troops should be setting GOALS and discussing plans for their Cookie Proceeds.   What is your Troop going to do with the money you earn from the Girl Scout Cookie Program?   -- Community service?   A Take Action Project?   A camping excursion?   Saving for a "big trip?" -- How many Cookies need to be sold to meet those goals? 2) Okay Troop Cookie Managers… now is the time to attend your Association’s Cookie Manager Training Session. For the last couple of days, you have probably been hearing a lot about Girl Scout Cookies, especially this morning.   Well that is because TODAY has been declared National Girl Scout Cookie Day and it is our goal to let the world know that Girl Scout Cookies aren’t just yummy!
