Why I’m Excited about the NEW Digital Cookie!! By Madison S. Cookie Season just started!! This year GSUSA created a new way to sell cookies…online. I’m so excited because now Girl Scouts like me, with help from GSUSA, can create a website and video to help us sell Girl Scout Cookies. And, even better, my family and friends can buy Girl Scout Cookies from me online! Digital Cookie is great for many reasons! First, increased cookie sales! I have a lot of family and friends that live far away, people who normally might not have purchased from me because the whole ordering and shipping process was too complicated. With the new online program, they can now order from me and pay online. When they order, the cookies will be shipped directly to their home. One of the biggest parts of the Girl Scout Cookie Programs is setting a goal. With the kick-off of the new Digital Cookie program, GSNC’s Marketing team decided to share our favorite tips for Digital Marketing. But, before you can start marketing your product, it’s important to set your goals, make a plan, and discuss your goal and plan with your business support team (aka your family members who are there to help you). Just remember, when working online, be sure to have your parent’s permission, take GSUSA’s Internet Safety Pledge , and be aware of the Stop.Think.Connect Cybersecurity Campaign . Tips:  Get creative on your Cookie Site . Come up with a fun and catchy video that you can post on your Digital Order Card . The Scoop on Cookies

We all know that the Girl Scout Cookie Season can be a hectic one… girls (with adult supervision of course) are out there “pounding the pavement” trying to sell as many boxes of cookies as they can to reach their goal.   Cookie Season doesn’t start until January 4, 2014, but what are some things we can do now to prepare ourselves and make January a little easier? 1) Troops should be setting GOALS and discussing plans for their Cookie Proceeds.   What is your Troop going to do with the money you earn from the Girl Scout Cookie Program?   -- Community service?   A Take Action Project?   A camping excursion?   Saving for a "big trip?" -- How many Cookies need to be sold to meet those goals? 2) Okay Troop Cookie Managers… now is the time to attend your Association’s Cookie Manager Training Session. Friday, February 8 th , 2013 has been declared National Girl Scout Cookie Day ! Girl Scouts and Non-Girl Scouts alike can join in on the fun and festivities on National Girl Scout Cookie Day! Girl Scouts can c elebrate with us by hosting a Cookie Booth Sale, a Cookie Walkabout, or simply going door-to-door that day with your Girl Scout Cookie Order Form. Not a Girl Scout, well you can still participate in the day’s festivities. When Girl Scouts sell Girl Scout Cookies®, they are building practical life skills such as Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics.
