One of the earliest behaviors my parents taught me was to say “please” and “thank you;” continuously reminding myself and my siblings that these were the magic words. After a birthday party, we would write thank you notes to those who came to celebrate with us. On Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparents’ Day, Teacher’s day, and all the other “days” of the year, we would say “thank you” to those who were there for us or supported us by giving cards and homemade gifts. April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and April 22 is Leader Appreciation Day which makes it an extra perfect time to say thank you to those Girl Scout volunteers in our lives. Maybe it’s the volunteers who are our cheerleaders, guides, and mentors. Or, that volunteer who helps us build courage, confidence and character. Dear Girl Scout Volunteer; Without you, a GSNC Volunteer, the lives of many girls in our community would be missing a vital connection. Their connection to one another, to their community, to their current friends and friends they have yet to make, and their connection to you. April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Showing appreciation for volunteers is a MUST. After all, our volunteers are ah-mazing and should be reminded of it not just this month, but every month! They do it all for the girls and often work extra hours on top of busy schedules and hectic lives. We love them for it and, well, Girl Scouting wouldn’t be the same without them. Let’s be sure to shout it from the Girl Scout rooftops! We know that everyday little things to show appreciation can go a super-long way. Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day: April 22nd Thank you for creating a supportive environment where we can build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place! Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day is a day of recognition for adult volunteers in Girl Scouting. Although volunteers are always appreciated, it is during these special days that we take the time to acknowledge that our volunteers are the lifeblood of Girl Scouts of NassauCounty .
