For All Girl Scout Volunteers Do... GSNC Thanks You!!
Did you know that April 22 is Girl Scout Leader and
Volunteer Appreciation Day? Well... It is! This is the time of the year when
Girl Scouts say "Thank You" to volunteers that give their time and
share their skills through the Girl Scouting Movement. So, for all you do for Girl Scouting, we thank you!
This past weekend, GSNC held the annual Adult Recognitions Ceremony where we recognized volunteers who were nominated by
their Girl Scouts or fellow volunteers for going above and beyond. Terri
DellaVecchia was honored for 70 years of volunteer service and membership to Girl
Scouts and Ethel Carlson was honored for 50 years of volunteer service to Girl
Scouting. Girl Scouting would not exist without
volunteerism and the conviction that ones
leadership will positively impact the girls that are mentored and they in turn,
will take action to make the world a better place. We are humbled by the passion of women like
Terri and Ethel; both wives, mothers, grandmothers, and leaders
that have helped Girl Scouts of Nassau County reach out to countless girls in
our communities, to plan meetings, learn safety guidelines, work with parents,
teach other leaders, encourage higher
achievement in themselves and others; by
being a Girl Scout.
So I am posing this question to each and every Girl Scout
out there...
How are you going to recognize those Girl Scout Leaders
and Girl Scout Volunteers who make your Girl Scouting experience amazing and
possible?
Using Twitter (@gsnc) and Facebook (facebook.com/GirlScoutsofNassauCounty),
share with us and other Girl Scouts how you plan to Thank your Girl Scout
Volunteer.
