On Sunday, March 3, 2014 GSNC robotic teams competed in 2 different SBPLI, Inc. competitions at Longwood High School in Middle Island - the Jr. FIRST LEGO League Expo and the FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament.

At the Jr. FIRST LEGO League Expo our adorable Jr. FLL team, CLIFFSIDERS, showcased their LEGO design and won the Most Explosive Award’ for their explosive ideas, eye-catching Show-Me poster, and explosive team energy.

In the FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament we had four teams compete, they were the Digital Darlings, LEGO Chicks, Merrick Masters and Smart Cookies.  All of our teams did a terrific job showcasing their inventions and competing with their robots!  Merrick Masters won the ‘Mechanical Design’ award and Smart Cookies won the ‘Presentation’ award.

A special thank you to the girls who volunteered their time at the FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament, Brianna K. was a referee and Katherine C., Lauren C., Erin H. & Maggie M. were judges. These girls have mentored our FLL teams and now they are giving back to SBPLI, Inc.!  GSNC is very proud of them!! Also, a big Thank You to all of the coaches, mentors, parents and Girl Scouts that helped the girls succeed!
